EDIT: I got myself a plain Wacom Bamboo Pen for now, I figure I can always just get a more pro tablet later if I feel the need.

Seem to be working more or less just like my old one so I'm pleased enough so far, thanks to everyone for their input!

WELL it happened, my trusty ol' Graphire2 kicked the bucket.

I got lots of good feedback last time I asked about tablet [reccomendations] but looking at monoprice's fees when it comes to shipping to Sweden ($70) I'm checking what can be bought closer to home, so right now I'm choosing between:

Monoprice 5.5X4 inches (100 USD with shipping)

Wacom Bamboo Pen (84 USD Pen) / Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch Small (122 USD)
("Bamboo Fun" just seem to be Pen & Touch but with art programs I don't need?)

Wacom Intuos5 Touch Small (290 USD)

If you know firsthand how any of these compare against each other please share, I've never used any other tablets than my own so I have no idea what things to really look for...All I know is that I don't need lots of fancy extra buttons or features but maybe an intous5 is more sturdy in the long run? As long as the pen has right-click feature I'm all set.

I'm not big on inking/lineart so pressure sensitivity maybe isn't that important to me either? (Looks like all of them has higher sensitivity than my old one though, even if bamboo pen is kinda dated laffo)

My Wacom Graphire2 has been protesting a bit lately so I'm doing some casual research in case I'd need to buy a new one soon, looking at Wacom's current ones they are so wide tough...I keep it on the right side of my laptop when drawing so I don't want froufrou stuff added on the left side of the tablet taking up space!

Even their smallest Intuos/Bamboo tablets are around is 32 cm/12.6 inches in width.
Preferably I want one around 20 cm/8 inches with a ~5"x4" active area.

Any suggestions?

Episodes tend to be hit and miss depending on who's invited but overall it's always fun, lots of improv comedy and indie music if that's your flavor. My favorite returning guests are Brett Gelman, Bob Ducca, and El Chupacabra/Baby. My favorite part ever is probably Gelman's dramatic (nws)[iBrain reading].

I'm assuming a few of you might be missing the plans for DA's new thumbnail layout so I have to make a journal entry about it, I urge everyone to head over to the planned feature's [journal] and leave your input (even though DA seem to be ignoring absolutely everyone even though they leave the same crit), you'll need to be a BETA tester but that can easily be turned on/off in settings.

To give a quick overview I took some shots of my own gallery, though it doesn't quite look as awful as it is since these are shrunken:

Zero breathing room between each thumbnail
Organized grid all gone
Ugly white rim for "odd" picture sizes

Near unreadable Folder and Comment text under titles
I guess the left align text is kinda nice though....?

Most of all it will make all your art blur together and give a cluttered unprofessional look, it also takes longer to get a good overview if you're skimming for something in particular....

I've drawn a lot of doggies in my days so I've created a folder to collect every single piece where someone is drawn as an animal no matter the series (or artistic quality), you can find it here:  [ANIMALIFICATION]

I also removed all my human ponies from my main MLP FiM folder and stashed them in their own place: [MLP FiM - Gijinka]

I'm genuinely impressed that DA actually managed to add an useful feature for once, comment count and folder info being visible under picture thumbnails is very helpful!

I love humanstuck and animalifications and all kind of gijinka related bending, so I made a club to collect the goods!


I must've sent out around 200+ submission requests to different artists, but I obviously can't catch everything  so if you know you have something related in you gallery and you didn't get a request from me please do add it! If you...can...? EDIT: I opened up for non-members to submit too, unless it gets abused some way I'll leave it open for all folders!

This is my first DA group so I dunno if non-members can submit freely, if there is a setting for it please tell me how to tweak it! (You can always just link it right here or on the group front page and I'll add it for ya!)

If you are interested in actually joining, maybe you should wait a day or two so you don't get a MASSIVE inbox influx from the requests I sent out if they get accepted more or less all at once.  _{Which I hope they do! SO! Finland.
Basically it is like Sweden but with a huge amount of cobblestone roads.

I was surprised to see how almost all signs had both Finnish and Swedish text instead of Finnish and like, English. No wonder they hate us; shoving our language down their throats!


I seriously got to see SO many people!
I'm too scared to namedrop all the kids since I'm actually not 100% sure what everyone's preferred alias is(or if you have sites?), but for those I know has DA; *fightbeast, ~DonPixe, ~kajoi, ~einnn,!minnsu, *muura, ~Nekotsume, ~oranges-lemons, *rijinks and ~uzumaxi! Nice to meet you, and of course everyone else not listed!

The FKMT fanmeet was so fun but painfully short! Def would've liked to draw a bit more with everyone ;; Bu~t considering the Fukumoto autograph section was the reason it wasn't longer kinda makes it excusable. I was really happy to see he shook hands with everyone b-because I would've requested to do it if it wasn't the norm. The staff had been clever enough to realize everyone would want a little doodle so instead they had a dicegame going on where if you got two uneven numbers you won a small drawing! Pretty fun feature I'd say, none of us won a treat though *cue sad BGM*

For the actual Q/A section held earlier it felt like it was mainly about how it was being a mangaka overall which is understandable considering the setting...I would've liked it there was some trivia regarding any of his canons, but still very awesome to just be there! Of course it was also awesome to see him [draw] Kaiji and Akagi on bigscreen, sigh <3 They had a blacksuit present thorough all of the first part when talking, so cute.

One tasty info treat was the fact that he mentioned he was a fan of Kiseijuu (Parasyte) by Iwaaki Hitshi, it really is a nice series. Also thank you missy who asked about Zero, I was scared I'd have to chime in about it myself LOL Apparently it won't get back from its hiatus until he's finished with some of his current works so...see you in a billion years, you gorgeous goodie-two-shoes you.

OH and also they actually ran the [FKMT Travel MAD] before it all started (but with the last part cut off of course) so cool/embarrassing, I could only squeak and applaud, hahahaha.

I don't really have much to report in con way...just hanging out with Maxi and Ralling was really fun (Muura went to meet with her friends). I was hoping I'd find some FKMT manga to buy but apparently the staff hadn't been able to receive them or somesuch? Oh well. We also poked into the JOJO panel but since it was held in Finnish...Yeah. (It was really amusing how almost everyone seated in that room where guys wearing black, srs fans for a srs manga? On that note, no jojo cosplayers where spotted)

Last but not least really I must thank muura again for inviting me to stay with her in the first place and then being such a sweet host through all days! It was so luxurious being able to not stress about finding the correct busses and/or trains myself. Also thanks to the con staff who was super helpful to me when I e-mailed them earlier about some things, great contact. Kudos all around!

Nobuyuki Fukumoto AKA one of my very favorite mangakas was invited as a guest to this convention so I'll be heading to Finland this weekend to attend! However I'm probably more excited that I'll get to meet some fellow online peers! This will be my first con ever so we'll see how it goes.

Just a warning though I'm not good with small talk or casual conversations so if you say hello and only get a bewildered smile and nod in return it's...
